Our Philosophy

We believe that child development is driven by positive experiences and stimulation, and that the first five years of a child’s life are the most influential to their overall development. Alderbuds offers an inclusive program and is committed to providing your child with high-quality care, ensuring that each child is safe, loved and encouraged to develop physically, socially, intellectually and emotionally.

Our centre is equipped with toys and materials that are age appropriate to your child. Children are encouraged to develop their skills and to solve problems with others. We recognize that laughter, hugs and sharing are fundamental to a child’s experiences, and they are an important part of what we offer children.

We encourage you to participate as an active partner in your child’s experiences at Alderbuds. We are happy to answer any questions you have or speak with you about your child’s development.

The Board holds meetings on a monthly basis, and discusses and makes decisions on issues including financial management, amendments to policies and procedures and overall operation of the centre. In keeping with our centre’s bylaws, the majority of Board members are parents of a child or children who are attending the centre, and all Board members are volunteers.

Alderbuds is a not-for-profit agency and a registered charity. We accept cash donations or donations of goods and services that are useful for our programs and operations. All donations of $10 or more are eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
